Meet Pete

Hi there, I’m Pete, and I love making photographs. In the decade since I bought my first DSLR, I’ve been trying to make photographs that are both visually interesting, but also best reflect the beauty of the world around me. I love having a camera in my hand, I’m in awe of the beauty of our planet, and I love the challenge of trying to make the best photographs I can.

We’re products of our environment, so it’s no wonder that my photographic style can trace its ancestry back to two quotes– “f/8 and be there” (photojournalist Arthur “Weegee” Fellig) and “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” (hockey great Wayne Gretzky). My pops is a photography enthusiast with a deep appreciation of history, light, and composition, and instilled in me the importance of simply being there, wherever I wanted there to be, being open to the wonder of the world around me, and having my camera at the ready. He’s also a hockey player and knows that you can’t score if you don’t shoot. His ability to see magic in the mundane, along with his endless encouragement, has and continues to be both a source of inspiration and a defining force in my photography.

I absolutely love photographing the beauty all around us– from the irrefutable awe one feels while looking out across the sweeping vista of a mountain summit to the less-appreciated details of water as it dances around the rocks in the stream you pass by every day but never stop at. I hope you can feel that love when viewing my photos.

Thanks again for visiting, and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Cheers,
